Dr Setchell is a Senior Research Fellow in Physiotherapy, and currently supported by an NHMRC Fellowship. Dr Setchell's research interests include post-structuralist critical perspectives on healthcare broadly, and physiotherapy specifically. Dr Setchell has been published broadly across health journals and has presented extensively on research which demonstrates extensive expertise in a range of qualitative and post-qualitative research methodologies. Dr Setchell also has 20 years of diverse clinical physiotherapy experience in Australia and internationally primarily in the musculoskeletal and sports sub-disciplines. An active member of the International Society for Critical Health Psychology executive, Dr Setchell is engaged in international leadership of research that seeks to rethink and enhance the equity of healthcare practices.
