Professor Alex Collie

Alex is Director of the Healthy Working Lives Research Group and Co-Director of the Division of Health Services Systems and Policy at Monash University. Alex is an Australian Research Council Future Fellow (2020-2024) and a Churchill Fellow. Alex has a PhD in psychology and a research career spanning senior posts in industry, government and academia. Alex was previously CEO of the Institute for Safety Compensation and Recovery Research and Executive Director of the Victorian Neurotrauma Initiative. Alex has published widely, led many national and international research projects, and provided technical and policy advice to government authorities, for-profit and for-purpose initiatives. Alex is recognised internationally as a leading authority on return to work and injury compensation system policy and practice. CI Collie leads the research in Victoria, co-leads data linkage, and contributes to simulation modelling and to policy implementation.
