It is well recognised that musculoskeletal pain after traumatic injuries such as whiplash is influenced by a wide range of biopsychosocial factors. Also, a growing number of studies concludes that prevention and management of pain should be psychologically informed and apply the biopsychosocial model. However, non-psychological professions are often challenged in implementing psychological approaches and techniques in clinical practice.
This webinar covered:
- Topics and approaches that might aid non-psychologists in this challenge
- The skills required to deliver this technique
- How pre-trauma vulnerabilities are important and the potential challenges in the treatment of whiplash injury
- Via a brief hands-on exercise, discover how working with life-values from a patient perspective can be a facilitator in working psychologically informed
